Nashville, TN (July 28, 2011)…Award-winning group, MOUNTAIN HEART will be the featured musical guests on “Mountain Stage,” one of the longest-running contemporary music programs on National Public Radio (NPR). Recorded in June in front of a live theatre audience at the Cultural Center Capitol Complex in Charleston, WV, the concert will be distributed to more than 100 stations throughout the United States on Friday, July 29 and will also broadcast on the Voice Of America Satellite service. “Mountain Stage,” hosted by Larry Groce and produced by West Virginia Public Broadcasting, features five guests on each show. Recent guests have included Mavis Staples, The Hold Steady, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, The Old 97s, Todd Snider, The Civil Wars and more. The broadcast featuring MOUNTAIN HEART will post online the following week at and archived for continued access.

Widely known for their dynamic live performances, MOUNTAIN HEART continues to revolutionize the way acoustic music is presented and performed. They have been a driving force in the Americana Roots and Progressive Bluegrass genres since forming in 1999, building a legion of fans over the years. In addition to headlining their own shows, they have shared the stage with a diverse group of entertainers including The Avett Brothers, Grammy award-winning sensations, Alison Krauss and Vince Gill and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees, John Fogerty, Levon Helm, and Lynyrd Skynyrd.
