Nashville CARES, Walgreens and PLAY present  a special screening of “Beautiful Jim”

Join Nashville CARES at PLAY on Wednesday September 28, 2016 at 8pm for this special movie screening benefiting the 25th Annual Nashville AIDS Walk & 5k Run. Walgreens will also be on hand to share their “Well Beyond HIV” initiative which celebrates the lives of older adults living with HIV. Donations to attend will be accepted at the door. All donations will go directly to the fundraising efforts for the Nashville AIDS Walk & 5K Run.

Renowned for writing hits for artists such as David Lee Murphy, Brenda Lee, Patty Loveless, Steve Earle and the Oak Ridge Boys, Jimbeau Hinson talks candidly throughout the film about his life as an open, formerly active, bisexual man which resulted in his diagnosis with HIV. Living over a decade under the secret of his infection for personal and professional reasons, he is now considered HIV-undetectable. Jimbeau has come close to dying from the AIDS virus on two occasions, miraculously beating the odds each time, all of which is documented in Beautiful Jim.

The documentary also features musical performances recorded live at Nashville’s Bluebird Cafe and Douglas Corner by Jimbeau, Jon Michaels, Marc-Alan Barnette and friends, as well as music from Roy August, Kim Tribble, David Lee Murphy, Dillon Dixon and Billy Dawson.

Immediately following the movie screening, Jimbeau will be available for a brief Q&A session.
