Darryl Worley Visits with St. Jude Kids During Country Cares
Nashville, TN (January 21, 2010)... Last week, country music hitmaker Darryl Worley was among hundreds of country music stars, industry leaders and radio broadcasters who participated in Country Cares for St. Jude Kids, the annual radio fundraising program in Memphis. While there, Worley toured the hospital and visited several young patients and their families. Since the inception of Country Cares for St. Jude Kids in 1989, the country music industry has raised a record $365 million to help kids battling deadly diseases. Founded by the late entertainer Danny Thomas, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is the only pediatric cancer research center where families never pay for treatment not covered by insurance. No child is ever denied treatment because of the family's inability to pay. For more information about St. Jude and Country Cares, please visit www.stjude.org or www.countrycares.org.
