Pope Also Releases Title Track As Latest Single and Music Video
(October 15, 2021 – Nashville, TN) Grammy nominated recording artist, Cassadee Pope, has released her latest album, THRIVE, available now. In addition to the album’s release, Pope is dropping her latest single and music video – the album’s title track, “Thrive.” The inspiring single, written by Pope, Kevin Bard and Andy Albert, provides a hopeful message of not only surviving the traumas of life, but thriving from them.
“I had the concept of “Thrive” written down for my session with Andy and Kevin, both who I’ve known since my Hey Monday days,” says Pope. “I was very grateful they were up for going a more angsty route with this song. It felt like a therapy session in a way. The idea isn’t about forgiving someone, it’s about acknowledging how that awful experience helped you to thrive eventually, but never forgetting how that person wronged you.”
In addition to the release of the title track as her latest single, Pope has also released the official music video for “Thrive.” Directed by Kamren Kennedy, the performance video is an energetic depiction of reclaiming yourself and taking the power back from someone or some circumstance meant to break you.
“I wanted the music video for “Thrive” to be moody and high energy, all focused on a live performance. I love how you can’t tell where I am, just that I’m in the wilderness, finding my voice again,” Pope says. “My goal was to tip a hat to one of my idols, Avril Lavigne, with the more feminine dress and combat boots!”
THRIVE is Cassadee Pope’s ninth career album. The project is the perfect mixture of Pop-Punk melodies with Country music storytelling – both genres integral to Pope’s sound and musical evolution. This harmonious collection of songs represents where she is at in this stage of her life: happy, confident, and healthy. Produced by powerhouses, Nickolas Wheeler (All-American Rejects) and Karen Fairchild (Little Big Town,) this labor of love is a true reflection of Pope’s growth as an artist and willingness to expose herself emotionally to the world.
“This album truly feels like coming home to me. I leaned into embracing my Pop-Punk roots and my Country influence and the end result is this extremely honest, vulnerable, and fearless record. I’m proud of the project and how it totally describes who I am and what I’ve persevered through,” says Pope.
