The "Shady Ladies Of Music City" Podcast Wraps Another Successful Season!

"Behind The Curtain: Season 2" closes with special episode featuring hit songwriter, "Songland" star, publisher and rcord label president, SHANE McANALLY

NASHVILLE, TN (June 3, 2021) — Shady Ladies of Music City hosts Evelyn Shriver and Susan Nadler are wrapping another exciting season of their popular podcast with a special episode featuring Shane McAnally. The season closer is available NOW wherever podcasts can be heard including Spotify, Stitcher and Apple Podcasts.

From his early days as a struggling artist to his current unprecedented success as a hit songwriter, publisher, producer, record label president and now “Songland” television personality, McAnally shares his journey from dejection to acclaim and happiness with a family and more success than he ever dared dream.

During the second season of “Shady Ladies of Music City: Behind The Curtain,” Shriver and Nadler welcomed both country superstars and music industry titans alike, giving listeners a glimpse into what actually goes on behind the scenes in the music industry. “We were pleasantly surprised by the reception to our first season and the fact that we even got a second season,” says Shriver. “We thought it might be fun to expand on our irreverent ramblings about country music history by sharing the stories of some of our friends who helped create that history.”

“The pandemic offered up some technical nightmares for this season, and Evelyn nor I are all that adept at technology,” adds Nadler. “Somehow, we managed to tape the shows socially distanced, but we definitely missed the ability of being in the same room and sharing a puff or two.”

About “Shady Ladies of Music City“ When Susan Nadler and Evelyn Shriver arrived in Nashville, no one, including themselves, could have predicted the path they would forge. In a matter of only a few years, these two women infiltrated, and subsequently flipped on its head, the Nashville music industry in the 1980s and 90s. Eventually becoming the first women ever to helm a major Nashville record label, Asylum Records, Susan and Evelyn demanded a seat at the table that was largely made up of men. Along the way they catapulted the careers of legendary artists like Randy Travis and Tammy Wynette, smoked weed with Willie Nelson, were named honorary pallbearers at George Jones’ funeral, one got arrested in Mexico while the other went roller skating with Cher, and both largely ignored the advice of every one of their male counterparts that came before. Now, they are bringing those backstage stories and unbelievable moments, with a substantial amount of unexpected, sometimes brutal, honesty, to their podcast “Shady Ladies of Music City.” Equal parts music, comedy, and female empowerment, “Shady Ladies of Music City” is a tell-all podcast recorded and produced in Nashville, TN and brought to you by Monument Records.
